Multiracial Unity Award

For the past three years the Racial Justice Task Force of the Social Justice Council of the First Unitarian Church of Chicago has been presenting its annual Multiracial Unity Award to a person or organization reflecting this principle. This year’s award will go to Dr. Kenneth Christiansen, a former member of the First Unitarian Church of Chicago and a former member of the Unitarian Universalist Multiracial Unity Action Caucus. He is being awarded for his pioneering work in developing a theory and practice based on using people’s assets in fighting racism and in working with a multiracial, community service group called ICARE in Florida. His award will be received by Ms. Marie Cobbs, chair, the Denominational Affairs Committee of the Social Justice Council for a later mailing to Dr. Christiansen.
