The Soul Matters Circle is a monthly, yearlong circle of people who meet to authentically connect with each other in reflection on monthly themes.
When a great pressure of this era is isolation—when we move too fast through too much work with too little time and too few people to connect with—the Soul Matters Circle is an invitation to slow down and to connect.
We use a packet of materials centered around monthly themes as a starting point for sharing. In the circle, each person speaks from the heart—without debate, discussion, or analysis from others, and without theories, generalities, or advice. It’s a practice of honest sharing and deep listening, of empathy and of crossing borders out of your own experience and into another’s.
Beginning later this fall, we’ll begin a new Sharing Circle of 8-10 people who commit to meet once a month through June.
Is this a path for journey—personally, socially, spiritually—that you might follow next year? This is your invitation to commit to a Soul Matters circle this year.
Call or email Rev. David to sign up or with questions: david.schwartz (at) firstuchicago.org.
Please note: The Soul Matters Circle that began in early 2018, having issued an open welcome to participate, is no longer accepting new members, in order to support the group’s ongoing and deepening work together. If you would like to participate in a future Circle, do please let Rev. David know of your interest.
