June 30 – 50 Years After Stonewall: Honoring the Spirit of Queer/Transgender Liberation

Rev. Jason Lydon

In the early hours of June 28th, dozens of transgender women, gay men, and other LGBTQ people who were hanging out at the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street in New York City fought back after being harassed and attacked by police. Fifty years later we remember this story in new ways, acknowledging the rights that have been gained and recognizing the work that is still needed. Rev. Jason will share with us about some of his own journey as queer man and honor the possibilities in queer liberation theologies.
