Engaging Our Theological Diversity: October 13, 2021

Engaging our Theological Diversity: A Discussion Group based on the UUA Commission on Appraisal 2005 report.

Next meeting: October 13, 2021

The discussion will be on “Theology: How Do We Frame the World?”, pp 82 – 94 in the UUA report “Engaging Our Theological Diversity,” found here.

In the introduction to the report, the Commission points out that “despite consensus within the church that the liberal message of UnitarianUniversalism is important in this troubled world, we find it difficult to articulate that message clearly.” In addition, “one of the goals of this report is to promote the notion that a healthy diversity requires common ground.”

Besides the report, we are also looking at examples of UU thinking about  theology. So please also read A Faith for the Free, pp 48 – 56, and The Church That Is Free, essays by James Luther Adams. If you need a copy of these essays, please contact Bobbi Lammers-Campbell at rlammer@luc.edu.

For additional information and discussion questions on the readings, please go to the 1stU website here.
