At the December 18, 2022 Sunday service, we presented a “Give Away the Basket” check to Kathleen Ray, co-director of the Hyde Park Refugee Project, a volunteer organization working to resettle refugee families in our neighborhood by helping them transition to self-sufficiency. Members of the community and the Hyde Park & Kenwood Interfaith Council began HPRP to connect, mobilize, inform, and engage individuals and organizations on the South Side to help refugee families.
First Unitarian, Chicago gives Sunday offering twice a month to agencies in the community working for the greater good. These are organizations whose work contributes in some way to a more just, equitable, and compassionate community, in alignment with our mission and UU principles.
