First Forum: Reproductive Healthcare and Reproductive Justice
October 6 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Join us on Sunday, October 6 as the 1st U Women’s Group welcomes Dr. Neha Bhardwaj and Luna Malbroux as our First Forum presenters. They will lead us in a discussion about the current landscape of Reproductive Healthcare and Reproductive Justice.
Dr. Neha Bhardwaj, MD, MS is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago. Her primary focus is family planning and contraception. Dr. Bhardwaj is “an expert in complex contraception, helping women and families who have trouble conceiving.“ She is described as being “passionate about using research to improve reproductive healthcare and access to care.”
Luna Malbroux will “outline the importance of reproductive justice as a vision and a framework to support those most targeted by bans, disenfranchisement and targeted propaganda. Together, we will explore how mutual aid and community is a tool to fill the gaps of organizations and institutions, and focusing on ‘choice’ alone, limits the opportunity to work collectively towards bodily autonomy, and safe and supportive communities.”
