Sunday, October 13: Indigenous People’s Day
October 13 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Who were the original settlers of Chicago? How did they refer to themselves? Due to its geography, the area was settled by many different people. These people used multiple identities to describe themselves: French, English, Indigenous, American or other. Dr. Jon F. Rice will explain the complicated history of the first inhabitants of the swampy marshland known for its wild onion plant called “Checagou” by the French.
