Visitors
We’d love to get to know you!
Visitors and guests are welcome each and every Sunday at First Unitarian. The Sunday service at 10:00 a.m. offers concurrent Religious Education for children and youth ages pre-K through 12th grade. We also offer a nursery for families with young children.
If you are a family coming for the first time, we recommend you come at least 15 minutes early so you can introduce your children to our Religious Education staff prior to the service.
What You Can Expect During Worship Services
Our Sunday services include a traditional Unitarian Universalist liturgy including: a call to worship; lighting of the chalice; hymns and music; a time for all ages (after which the children leave the sanctuary with the R.E. staff); time for meditation, reflection and prayers; a sermon; and closing words. You may want to read or listen to a sermon by one of our ministers before attending so you can get a sense of the theological themes addressed in worship.
The Sunday morning schedule is:
10:00 a.m. Worship in the Sanctuary (nursery care available). Religious Education for children and youth.
11:00 a.m. Social Hour with coffee, tea, juice, and treats.
11:30 a.m. Following social hour, we often have several Sunday Morning programs, including the First Forum & Roundtables, which frequently provide either a formal presentation or an informal conversation on a wide variety of topics.
We can help you navigate your way around the building and help you connect to staff and programs at our Welcome Table, located just as inside the main doors. Our greeters and ushers are there to guide you, and answer questions.
Please take a moment to fill out a visitor card located at the Welcome table or fill out the online visitor’s form here before you attend for the first time.
