We have many small groups to offer through First U. These groups meet regularly. They provide a way to deepen your friendship with other congregation members.

Thirsty Theologians

We get together the last Wednesday of the month in a casual easy way and meet a few people. We have a drink (leaded or unleaded), eat some tater tots, share a story, and enjoy a summerish evening together. If you have not come before, give it a try now, if we have never met, come and let’s do so! We’ll plan to grab a table or two in the back.

The Good Life

The Good Life Seminar is a recurring Adult Religious Education opportunity at the First Unitarian Church of Chicago. In this highly-varied monthly series, w

We engage texts, frameworks, ideas, imaginaries, problems, and exemplars of what makes for a “good” life, individually and collectively.

Journey Group

Journey Groups at the First Unitarian Church of Chicago are one great way to connect in a personal way here at Church. They provide intentional space for sharing and reflection together and the chance to deepen our self-understanding and relationships. Each group generally includes 8-12 people who meet on an ongoing monthly basis. The group is structured to include time for sharing about our personal lives and reflection together on aspects of the monthly worship themes using resources provided at the beginning of each month. Groups can continue to grow to make room for as many people who want to participate (just like Church!)

We have ongoing groups that can accommodate new members. Note these groups stay together over time, so require an intention to commit. If you’d like to be a part of a group, drop a note to Rev. Dave or our Faith Development Director, Liz McCreless, to join.
