Styrofoam Recycling Program

The Green Sanctuary group has established a Styrofoam Recycling Program at First Unitarian Church! You may bring in Styrofoam packaging and CLEAN Styrofoam food packaging and leave it at the accumulation point in Pennington Center anytime.

The cardboard accumulation box is located in the first-floor hallway of Pennington Center, near the church office, and is set up to accept your Styrofoam packaging and clean foodstuff Styrofoam material. All you need to do is bring your accumulated Styrofoam material and deposit it in the accumulation box. Green Sanctuary people will do the rest.

Our Green Sanctuary volunteers –  Ross Blythe, Margie Gonwa, Ellen Larue, and Richard Pardo – have agreed to take one month and get the material to Dart Industries on 79th Street for recycling.  PLEASE NOTE: Styrofoam ‘peanuts’ or ‘worms’ that may be a part of shipping materials are NOT accepted at this time. Please do not include any paper or plastic bags or other packaging material you may have used to help with your accumulation.
